Description of Therapy Modalities
-
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a specialized therapeutic approach that helps clients process and heal from traumatic memories, distressing life experiences, and negative beliefs that can affect their emotional and psychological well-being. The process is structured, yet it can feel quite unique and deeply transformative for those who undergo it.

Deep Brain Reorienting
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on helping individuals access and release deeply stored trauma, emotional blockages, or subconscious patterns that influence their behaviors, emotions, and physical well-being. It's a holistic, somatic-based modality that works with the brain's natural ability to reorganize itself, bringing attention to how the brain processes and reacts to past experiences.
In a DBR session, clients typically experience a mix of physical sensations, emotional awareness, and cognitive shifts. The goal of DBR is to help "reorient" or recalibrate how the brain responds to distressing memories, emotional patterns, or trauma, so that the individual feels more integrated, grounded, and in control. David is currently working towards certification in DBR.

Natural Processing
Natural Processing is a trauma-focused therapeutic approach that blends somatic (body-based) work with elements of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), mindfulness, and parts work. It's designed to help people gently and effectively process trauma and emotional wounds through the body—not just by talking about them.
Rather than just diving into a painful memory or trying to fix a belief, Natural Processing helps you slow down and follow what’s actually happening in your nervous system. The therapist might help you track sensations, emotions, movements, images, and impulses—all the nonverbal stuff that trauma often gets stored in.

Ego State Therapy
Ego State Therapy is kind of like Internal Family Systems’ older cousin—similar idea, slightly different vibe and background. It’s a form of psychotherapy that focuses on exploring and working with your ego states, which are like semi-independent parts of your personality that show up in different situations. Think: the inner critic, the wounded child, the perfectionist, the protector, etc.
